The on-water training is carried out in the superb Plymouth Sound and the rivers Tamar and Plym
Your instructor will have many decades of teaching experience, as well as having worked commercially skippering powerboats in several locations
You will learn close-quarters manoeuvring, anchoring, safety related skills and knowledge as well high speed handling

The ICC Small Powerboat package is a theory and practical course designed to cover the requirements to meet the requirements of an MCA UK ICC (International Certificate of Competence)
The ICC (10m) for powerboats is the license needed by insurance companies for private own boat use or to charter boats abroad

The Small Powerboat & Rib Master course is designed for professional yacht crew seeking practical skills and official recognition. It covers vessels up to 15 m with no accommodation, powered by outboard or inboard motors, in fair weather, up to 20 NM from the coast
There are no horsepower restrictions, and the RIB Master certificate is a commercial certificate that does not require a separate commercial endorsement
On e-learning course must be successfully completed before the 2-days of practical training, during which continuous assessment tracks your development throughout the program. The course is competency-based, meaning candidates are evaluated on their ability to demonstrate correct skills and knowledge in real-world scenarios. A short written exam will be held on the final day to confirm understanding
